Supro refreshes and re-styles its Dual Mode Amplitude + Harmonic Tremolo

In a somewhat surprising move Supro has revamped the pedal styling of its perennially popular Tremolo pedal. Presumable the first of a range revamp - which sees a simpler more modern look with milled aluminium knobs in place of the highly stylised former concave silver-tops.

I think I prefer the new look, while it strikes me as not as immediately identifiable or iconic as the original - where that was quite distinctively ’Supro’. While the new modern look is a lot more generic overall.

Presumably it has those same great internals - one would assume with a few more SMT parts in the mix as is the fashion these days. While it seem that said signature tone is very firmly intact. This has long been many a player’s go-to Harmonic Tremolo. That Pedal Show were always keen fans of this pedal. It’s one that I’ve long intended to acquire - perhaps this is the year!

The enclosure no longer has a brushed finish to it - but is smooth, and the easy-access battery compartment has been removed - currently that option only exists on the Drive pedal now.

The Supro Dual Mode is distinct from most of its Tremolo peers in having a preamp section - controlled by the Gain knob - which considerably warms up the output and adds further textural elements into the mix.

Controls - Depth, Gain, Speed, Mode : Amplitude / Harmonic.

Very simple and elegant to deploy - entirely intuitive in nature. Not one of the most fully featured - but certainly one of the best sounding of this genre.

I long intended to get a few of the Supro pedals into the collection - while to date it’s only been the flanger. The new Dual Mode Tremolo definitely goes down on the wishlist - perhaps this will be my year of ’Tremolo’ as that capsule collection is not nearly as potent as my other key modulation categories.
