VS Audio further enhances its Blackbird Preamp - now in Deluxe edition with added Bias Tremolo
So it’s only about a year ago that VS Audio launched its Blackbird early Fender Amps Preamp - which then came with 5 controls.
The new edition significantly expands on the original template by adding a Bias Tremolo with Intensity and Speed controls.
On the Preamp side we still have Drive, Volume and Tone knobs and the ERA switch - where you flip between Brownface and Blackface Mode. The Channel switch is new - allowing to flip between Normal and Bright Modes, while the former Gain switch has been evolved to two power-up modes - where you hold down the Bypass footswitch to flip between the Low Gain (White LED), and High Gain (Red LED) modes.
The pedal also benefits from its own RTN / SND FX Loop - where you can bring other pedals into the signal chain.
This is very much an enhanced Deluxe version of the Blackbird, and reminds me of the Origin Effects pedals that to a similar thing - while those are only based on a single amp voicing.
The price is still very reasonable - just €229, compared to the €179 of the original compact. Available right now on the VS Audio Webstore and imminently and leading dealers.
