Leqtique's 10/10 Distortion is a really potent, super-versatile Firecracker of a Mini

Following my recent 12 Degrees of Saturation Mini Enclosure Feature - one of my readers recommended that I check out one of his favourites - the 10/10 Distortion by Japanese boutique builder Leqtique (Shun Nokina).

It seems Leqtique released a series of mini pedals around 2017 - among them a Signature Tosin Abasi Kigen and of course this 10/10. These are seemingly all discontinued now, and currently Leqtique seems to be all about small batches of handpainted compact enclosure pedals.

Controls - Volume, Gain, Bottom, Treble.

As mentioned in the title - this pedal is incredibly potent for its size. Some of my Mini Distortions lack a little on the output / volume side - while this has it all really. A beautifully calibrated 2-Band EQ, and plenty of range on the Volume an Gain knobs.

There’s a pretty wide range for the output here - delivering some cool overdrive tones lower down the gain scale, and with the 2 EQ’s carving out the appropriate frequencies.

I’ve said it before - that it’s really quite magical getting such a huge sounds our of a such a tiny device. Not all Minis are created equal - but there are a few out there that can take on anything really.

Some Minis are most useful as space savers - while the 10/10, Free Fall Diver Huge, and of course Decibelics trio Golden Horse, Reverend and Angry Swede are equal to anything at compact enclosure size - and there are many more besides though.

Second hand prices for the 10/10 seem to vary between circa $120 and $180 - and there are occasionally bargains to be had. I acquired mine from Japan via Ebay - I paid a little bit over the odds really - while the Japanese sellers tend to be a little more fair and accurate on their pedal condition descriptives.

Just after I hit buy on Ebay, I spotted one for significantly less - yet those are not always like for like necessarily, and I’m generally happy with my choices even when I do pay a little bit over the odds. The pedal I received was pretty pristine - sans box of course while it otherwise was in excellent condition - not quite Mint though - a couple of tiny scuffs on one of the bottom edges.

This definitely goes onto the mini pedal leaderboard.

If you have any further recommendations for Potent Mini Gain Pedals - do let me know!
