People should be fairly familiar with the common 4-Controls layout of OBNE’s BL Clock Slider Series by now - there the central control is a Slider - which allows you to manipulate the core Clock Speed / Frequency which impacts most significantly on the character of the sound generated.

The only mystery real is the source and order of the 2 latter digits - where the first pedal released was the BL-44 Reverse, then we jumped all the way up to the BL-82 Chorus, while now we’re numerically back at BL-37 - I’m not at all clear on the relevance of that sequence.

Controls - Mix (Dry / Wet), Volume (Output), Clock (Reverb / Modulation Speed), Feedback (Decay / Modulation Character).

This time around the controls - which are identically labelled as per the BL-82, adjust Dry > Wet Mix, Output Volume, Timing and quality / resolution of the Reverb Modulation (from Quick / Snappy to Lo-Fi and Stretched, and finally Feedback allows you to lengthen the Reverb Decay and increase the Modulation Character / Intensity.

OBNE describer their new Reverb as :

"BL-37 is a reverb pedal within our BL line. It features modulation at two points in the reverb trail to give a wandering, lush reverb unlike any of our other reverbs, with a simplified control set. The Clock slider is the key to its magic, moving from a quick, tile-bathroom echo out to a dark, lofi-stretched reverb, unlike any space in existence."

Each of these devices is intended for hands-on manipulation of the central Slide control in particular -  as part of a dynamic and improvisational / experimental playback experience. They’re very simple to operate by virtue of their straightforward control layout, and each of them is honed to be particularly flavoursome and versatile albeit within a fairly defined space.

OBNE have certainly gotten the most out of this format - as we’ve had a Delay, Modulation and Reverb variation on the same theme - will be interesting to see how much headroom their is within this BL Clock Slider Series - and which further formats and genres types it can and will cover!

Available for the same reasonable price point of $179 from the OBNE Webstore and at international dealers imminently if not already.
