It’s only been a short while since I first unveiled the Expression Ramper X3 with all new Holey Kids Artwork in fact barely 2 months ago. That artwork has now been rolled out to several more key pedals in the utility range. While at the same time introducing an all new Expression Ramper, with new features - including a Tap Tempo button. Most of these pedals have been covered in depth before on this site - so this article will really just focus on the new Expression Ramper!
So the Expression Ramper is significantly different to the original edition - which I own a few of. I’m excited and yet disappointed at the same time that my incumbent Rampers have been obsoleted. I look forward to getting one of these new ones in and putting it through its paces.
Here are the new features :
Controls - Shape : Triangle / Square / One-Shot (Alt : Smooth Random / Sharp Random / One-Shot Random), Knob Input : A / B / Rate, Settings Knob, Tap-Tempo Button. Plus internal Internal configuration for TRS, TRS Reverse polarity, and TS configurations, as well as ability to replace built-in 50K digipot with 10K or 100K versions.
In short - plenty going on here for such a small form factor, and you can hold down the Footswitch to access those Alternate Settings.
The Expression Ramper and Expression Slider are still my champions for those functions - there’s nothing out there really equivalent to the Expression Ramper - in that Mini form factor. While we’ve seen quite a few Expression Slider copies / derivations released in the wake of that pedal.
Featured in the main visual are all those pedals which share the same Holey Kids artwork - they currently include the All New Expression Ramper ($79), Split Meld ($25), Expression Slider ($44), Expression Ramper X3 ($199), and Scooch Tap Tempo ($30). Of course all available on the Old Blood Noise Endeavors Webstore, and imminently at International Dealers.
