Crazy Tube Circuits' new Motherload Dual Gain Machine Unleashes Classic Rat and Muff Circuits in the same enclosure - but where you can also combine each circuit's Tone Stacks to unique effect

CTC’s Christos is a genius at finding unusual but smart combinations of functions and circuits. For me his 2 standout masterpieces to date are his Constellation Multi-Fuzz and Phi Golden Ratio Multi-Compressor. And I feel that this Motherload Holy Grail Dual Gain Machine Fuzz / Distortion will be right up there too.

Controls - Volume, Circuit : Rat / Muff, Gain, Tone (Muff), Voice (Mids : Muff), Filter (Hi-Cut : Rat), Link EQ Buttons = combine all 3 EQ controls.

Two of the most iconic gain machines side-by-side - with 3 accompanying EQ’s - Tone and Voice (Mids) for Muff, and Filter (Hi-Cut) for the Rat. We’re talking the classic Opamp and 4 x Silicon Transistor circuits with maximum dynamics.

You have a further white Link EQ push-button which allows you to then use all 3-EQ’s for each of the two gain circuits. You can’t combine or stack the two core gain circuits - but you can stack their tone stacks as such.

On the surface it’s quite an obvious but really smart idea - just no one has done it before! I’m a huge fan of Rats and Muffs in general - so this one is a no brainer for me - the Motherload renders a unique Rat and a unique Muff - so it’s definitely going straight onto the acquisitions list. The form factor and arrangement are just perfect.

I really do like everything about this pedal - from the Holy Grail symbolism on the enclosure to the layout and topology and name even - I feel this is going to be bestseller for sure. I’m of course in negotiations to get one of these in for the reference collection.
