Silktone improves its already brilliant Germanium Fuzz Face - now in extended Fuzz+ Edition with additional Treble and Bass controls, and dedicated Raw Mode second Footswitch
I obviously have and love the original - with its external Bias control and super handy LED Bias Screen. The new one is simply an improvement of that already great circuit - with additional controls - and of course retaining that fantastic richly detailed harmonic germanium sound.
Silktone have also graciously maintained the price point - so you’re getting quite a bit more bang for you buck here. As before - I would of course have preferred this in a vertically oriented format, but since it’s now fully dual-footswitch I don’t mind it so much.
Controls : Volume, Fuzz, Cleanup / Impedance, Treble Shape, Bass Shape, Raw Mode Footswitch, Bias adjust, Bypass Footswitch.
I always get a little peeved when one of my pedals gets obsoleted - particularly when it happens relatively quickly. I really wish the brand would have had the foresight to include those features from the start. Meaning I need to double down on this pedal.
I feel it's a really good buy, well priced at $269 direct from the Silktone Webstore, and £279 at Andertons here in the UK - supposedly in stock on November 1st there.
I will certainly be getting one of these in - while I have yet to assign a particular priority to that task.
I am currently mindful of all the annual roundup / best-of articles - and still have a few priority pedals to land before this innings comes to a close. I've already earmarked a number of pedals for next year - we just need to see how all that shapes up eventually.
What's for certain sure is that I will have one of these Turqoise Editions of Fuzz+ in the reference collection before long!
