Origin Effects is certainly rolling with the Adaptive Circuitry format - here in its 3rd iteration - based on the Universal Audio 610 Tube Preamp - which leant any input a warm and harmonic saturated analogue feel.
There are essentially 3 modes of playback - with the Drive set low / fully CCW you have a formidable EQ / Tone Shaper, raise the Drive on the EQ Mode and you get progressively more saturated Boost. And then on the OD Mode - you’re into a higher gain structure with a broad range of Drive textures.
Controls - Level, Mode : EQ & Boost / OD, Drive, Low Frequencies Cut / Boost (Middle is flat), Voice (Adaptive High Frequency Cut Strength) : DRK (Max), FLAT (None), MED (Some), High Frequencies Cut / Boost (Middle is flat).
So a relatively easy circuit to get to grips with as soon as you know what does what. Presumably some smart discrete components circuit which gives the pedal that warm analogue feel.
This would certainly fit neatly within my fairly recent Evolved Tone Enhancer selection - alongside pedals like Crazy Tube Circuits’ Super Conductor and the Source Audio Zio, Possibly it warrants a rotation or two on my #6 pedal-chain slot - in place of the JA Prism. It certainly deserves considerration.
Hopefully I manage to reconnect with Origin Effects some day - and get back on that horse so to speak. As it is all 3 Adaptive Circuitry pedals are on the wishlist - along with the RD Compact Hot Rod (which I still think could do with a Mids control!).
The DCX Boost Tone Shaper & Drive is available right now for £259 and equivalent - on the Origin Effects Webstore, and imminently at leading International dealers.
I will certainly be looking to get hold of some of these some day in the not too distant future - in the meantime I will need to rely on you for your insights!
