Jamie Stillman’s Green Russian inspired Hoof Hybrid Fuzz is one of the great Big Muff adjacent circuits - which fields 2 Germanium Transistors alongside 2 Silicon ones - for the most exquisite and unique Big Muff textures - with elevated levels of sustain too.
Controls - Tone, Fuzz, Level.
For this 20th Anniversary Edition Jamie returns to the original specs and uses the supposedly NOS Transistors of the original - which look like 2N1304 Transistors courtesy of the below photo. This Anniversary Hoof is currently listed on the EQD Reverb.com Store @ $229, only 400 of these will exist - so they will get snapped up incredibly quickly. And shipping looks like it’s only enabled for USA - aswhen I hit that Revern.com link - it tells me "This seller has not set a shipping cost for United Kingdom. Please contact them to ask about shipping."
I can't find any UK or European listing for this pedal - so it looks like we won't be able to get our hands on one of these! Which is just as well really, as I already hit the contingency funds for the very recent Beetronics Whoctahell Babee edition - and all other funds for the month are allocated towards Christmas.
This 20th Anniversary Hoof would have been really nice to have for sure, but I'm already covered really as I have both of Loe Sounds' exquisite extended range fuzzes - which are based on this very circuit - the 'She' and 'Cha'Cha' Fuzzes (as already listed on this site!) - which also have rare Germanium Transistors onboard, and have more extended range 4-knob vs 3-knob topologies.
It seems like there are a lot of 'USA only' release these days - which I find somewhat annoying - as our own native brands don't discriminate on country of origin! It's a shame that this could not be a wider release - it looks and sounds amazing, and comes with some really cool packaging and extras - as you can see below!
