So we’re getting pretty familiar with this format of effect by now - where this is the 5th of that kind to share the exact same topology - following on from the Aurelius Chorus, Ledges Reverb, Spatial Delivery Filter, and Time Shadows II Multi-Delay.

Controls - Time, Repeats, Mode : Digital / Analog / Tape, Mix, Preset Save/Recall, Preset 1-6. Tap Tempo Footswitch, Activate Footswitch.

All pretty straightforward really - just 3 main controls with a Rotary Selector for Presets.

I think there is much to be said for production efficiencies - and so this approach is somewhat understandable - while it kind of changes the M.O. of EQD a little - where we were well accustomed to seeing quite different pedal layouts for each effect. It kind of makes these feel more like production-line effects than the more carefully considered boutique variants of old. I’m definitely a little conflicted here.

While you can’t really argue with the formula - as it seems to be working well, and is intuitive and simple to use. But I’m not really getting as excited about this effects series as I am for some of the other pedals in the range - an interesting one for sure.

Each of the 3 Modes has a maximum of 1 second / 1000ms of delay time - with very simple and typical delay controls. Really the strength of this series is in the 6 Presets.

As for other pedals in the series this one goes for $149 / €159 / £155 and is available at all EQD stockists as usual.

Key Features

  • 3-mode Delay effects pedal
  • Inspired by EQD founder Jamie Stillman’s three favourite delay pedals
  • Up to 1 second of delay time
  • 3 effects modes :
    • D - Digital Delay mode offers nearly infinite repeats that hold their fidelity while gradually rolling off the top end with each regeneration
    • A - Analog Delay mode is more mid-focused in the initial attack and gradually degrades while getting darker with each repeat
    • T – resembles an old, well-loved tape delay with all its glorious artifacts. Dark and moody with just a hint of distortion when you hit it just right
  • 2 modes of operation :
    • Live Mode – Green LED-  pedal will operate exactly where the controls are set, any changes will have no effect on the presets unless saved
    • Preset Mode - red LED - recalls stored settings for each control, actual control settings will be ignored
  • 6 easily user-editable and accessible preset slots
  • Dedicated Tap Tempo footswitch
  • Silent soft-touch relais-based switching with Buffered Bypass and Trails
  • Flexi-Switch Technology for latching and momentary operation
  • EXP jack expression pedal or Voltage control pedal control over any parameter
  • All-analog dry signal path and digital effect signal path
