Intriguing reboot here as the Limited Edition Pedal Movie Collaboration Pedal gets an extended lease of life. You may recognise the format of this pedal by now - which follows the same path as EQD’s Aurelius Chorus, Ledges Reverb, and Spatial Delivery V3 Filter pedals. All these have 4 knobs - including a 6-Position Presets Rotary, a 3-way Mode Switch, a Presets Save/Recall button and an Expression port.
This means that the Time Shadows Subharmonic Multi-Delay Resonator gains 6 Presets, Expression control, and a 3rd ’!¡’ Playback Mode.
The core fundamentals remain the same as the original pedal - with the same 3 core controls - Time, Span and Filter - you just get a few extra bells and whistles with this edition - which follow the recent EQD pedal roll-out format.
Controls - Time, Mode : EQD / !¡ / DBA, Span, Filter, Preset Save / Recall, Preset : 1-6.
So obviously the same EQD and DBA variant Modes - were the new ’!¡’ Mode delivers a dual delay where each repeat simultaneously shifts up and down with each regeneration.
"With the switch to the left Time Shadow’s controls are completely the brainchild of EarthQuaker Devices resident genius Jamie Stillman. Flip the switch to the right, and you enter the head of the madman Oliver Ackermann from Death By Audio barely clutching to reality. Place the switch in the middle and enter a whole new realm of pitch warping delays brought to you by a telepathic mind-meld with a 5th dimensional dream being."
"The EarthQuaker Devices side transforms whatever you play into the sound of a jazz space bazooka! It’s a pitch morphed fuzz delay filter with so much attitude that you are actually intimidated. It takes the input signal, blows it out with power of digital distortion, blends it with a polyphonic sub octave, feeds it into a delay, then spits it out into a highly resonant envelope controlled lowpass filter."
"The Death By Audio side is a multi-delay filter remorphinator that goes from icy shimmers to cosmic space caves of bouncing repeats. The middle position is an energy beam that brings your earthly transmissions repetitively closer to the heavens while simultaneously diving deep into the hells."
If you liked the original, then likely you will like this one even more - a pretty unique effect all-round. I’ve still to make my mind up here as to whether I want or need this in the reference collection. It’s a pretty cool pedal for sure - while I’m still kind of undecided as of this moment.
These should be available for orders right now across all the usual dealers - obviously with the USA a little ahead of the ROTW.
