The Keeley Electronics Parallax Spatial Generator is a new spin on the Caverns EchoVerb format featuring the Realizer Reverb on the Left Channel

Most should be familiar with Keeley’s Caverns EchoVerb by now - with a Modulated Tape style Delay Channel on the Right, and a Multi-Reverb Channel on the Left. The new Parallax replaces the default Caverns Reverb Channel  (Shimmer / Spring / Modulated) with the Realizer Reverb (Hall / Reverse / Soft Focus) for a slightly wider-ranging palette of flavours.

There are two halves to the pedal obviously - both with 5 controls apiece - 4 knobs plus a 3-way Mode Selector, and each Channel has its own Footswitch - to they can be applied independently as well as in combination / tandem.

Controls - REVERB SIDE } Blend, Decay, Warmth, Depth, Type : Hall / Reverse / Soft Focus, Reverb Footswitch, DELAY SIDE } Time, Blend, Repeats, Rate, Modulation : Light / Deep / Off, Delay Footswitch.

Anyone familiar with the Caverns will be instantly familiar with this too - it really is only a matter of swapping out the Reverb Side - but with mostly the exact same controls in place.

Cool sounding EchoVerb for sure, but sadly only Mono throughput - so not really to my preferences as I need Stereo Delays and Reverbs for my rig.

The Keeley Caverns has long been a favourite of many a player and mines a similar furrow to EQD’s Avalanche Run which is Stereo though. Many Caverns fans will undoubtedly want to step up to these new flavours so I’m sure this will do pretty well - especially as the Realizer Reverb has been so well received already.

Could not be simpler to operate really - but would be cool to get these some day with full stereo ins and outs - possibly courtesy of TRS enabled jacks!

The Parallax Spatial Generator is available right now on the Keeley Electronics Webstore for $219, and will be imminently at dealers too - EU equivalent price is €259, £229 in the UK.

I vert much see this primarily as a cool new spin on the original Caverns format.
