Fuzzrocious certainly seems to be on a roll currently - and I love the combination of simple but flexible controls combined with vibrant and cutesy graphics. And this time around I’ve been in two minds as to whether I get the standard Ocean Azure Blue edition or the Axe and You Shall Receive Purple Sparkle edition - which matches my Canadian Dealers Li’l Fella edition - of course that one acquired from Scott Hager’s Axe and You Shall Receive. I really love both the featured colourways here and I’m finding it tricky to settle on my favourite variant.
I’ve long been billing 2021 as ’Year of the Phaser’ and I still have a slew of further phaser reviews in progress. I also thought I had reached my limit with 11 units to my name, but now I am soon to have 12 - and still need at least a couple more to complete my ideal Phaser Capsule Collection.
Nicholas Williams of Dunwich Amplification collaborated on this smart circuit with Ryan and Shannon - so the credentials here are really solid, and the 7 controls and dual-footswitches help you get the most out of this format in the simplest manner possible.
You get totally different tonalities running Fuzz into Phaser and Phaser into Fuzz - with a more swirly texture that way around. Lots of different tonalities depending on the strength of the fuzz voicing applied - from subtle and aethereal through to raspy.
Two of my favourite dealers carry this pedal or will do very soon - Axe and You Shall Receive in Canada, and Joe Light’s Joe’s Pedals in the UK. Depending on which version I decide to go for I would be getting it from one of those two gentlemen. Reverb.com also has a limited Charcoal ’Etched’ edition, and Chicago Music Exchange has a Black Ocean version which are pretty cool too - but not my favourites!

There’s really not too much more to say here besides you get a combination of great Jet Phaser -like Phasing with a suitably textured Fuzz - which can be switched in or out. Making this predominantly a Phaser type of effect. While it also qualifies for my very favourite category of Fuzz - or more specifically Modulated Fuzz!
The Electric Ocean is available right now from $189 at all your favourite Fuzzrocious dealers (or will be very soon). Of course I recommend my own 2 already referenced favourite dealers.
By the time you read this - one of those two will have been added to my collection (on the way) - can you guess witch one I went for? And are you onboard for one of these too?
