For the #4 Limited Drunk Beaver Pedal Drop we have 15 Donetsk Muffs - which are a smart spin on the Ibanez JS-01 Jet Driver Muff. A rare Ram’s Head Muff style variant with unique modified tone stack.
Vitalii’s special spin on that circuit sees 2 switchable gain-stages - where the first is composed of a Silicon pairing of BC239C Transistor and BAV20 Diodes, and the alternative is a Germanium AK187K (9 pedals) or GT311 (6 pedals), both paired with 2 Red LEDs to help delivery unity output. Note that the Germanium Transistors needed to be very specifically matched up to a magical HFE value - which always involves a lot of attrition!
In the usual Drunk Beaver rapid prototyping style - these are literally hot off the press - with several completed on this very day.
This is a cool and unusual Muff - for those who are fans of the genre in general, or specifically of the Ram’s Head variety. Both Maxon and Ibanez made some really cool Muff style circuits back in the day - where the Ibanez 850 OD / Fuzz and Maxon D&S are the best known varieties.
The Ibanez JD-01 Jet Drive has always been a collector’s gem - and this modified variety delivers an even better version of that circuit.
Available on the Drunk Beaver Reverb.com Store as usual. Only 15 were made - and will likely sell out pretty fast! The price tag for these is $180.
As before there are no demos - as these are all sold as soon as they’ve been finally assembled - as mentioned, with pedals being built right up to the time of launch.
Surely another great Muff for your collection - and you know with Drunk Beaver that you’re going to get a really decent quality superior output - which is typically not the case for many of those vintage muffs.
