This new edition of Katana 50W Combo Amp simply brings in some of the features previously only available on the larger Katana 100 Edition. You’re essentially getting a more powerful feature rich version of the Katana 50 Combo.
So essentially the world’s best-loved practice Amp gets even better.
I am still of a mind that Boss’s Katana Range of Amps are the best option for home-play / practice amp - and deliver a combination of features and performance that no other brand has really caught up with yet. Some have come close - while for me the overall coverage and character of these amps sill reigns supreme. And in terms of a value-proposition is still way out in front of the chasing mob.
Katana advocate Dave Simpson in particular has shown just how magnificent those Katana Amps can sound. There is so much granularity onboard that near enough everyone should be able to dial in a tone they love.
The Katana 50 for me is kind of your starter for 10, then you get the slightly more serious older brother in the guise of the Katana 100, and then the slightly more Pro and Articulate Artist Series - which delivers even more depth of detail. I am still adamant that Boss has the best range of solid state amps of any Amp Manufactures - and that range is even more rounded now with these 3 new additions.
I for sure think this one’s worth the upgrade!
For me the Katana Artist Series is the perfect peak of the Katana Range - with improved control access and visibility via its front-facing control panel. For the Standard Katana Editions - the control panel sits on top of those Amps.
Controls - Amp Type x 5 + Variation, Gain, Volume, Bass, Middle, Treble, Booster / Mod, FX / Delay, Reverb, Tone Setting : CH1 / CH2 / Panel, Master, Power Control, Power Switch.
Rear Ports & Controls - AC In, Power Amp In, Line Out, USB B, AUX In, GA-FX Foot Controller, EXP Pedal, Phones / Rec Out.
