In many ways this is better than the full-sized StroboStomp HD - which I’ve pictured above in 75th Anniversary Gold LE Edition. Alas no Gold StroboStomp Mini is on the cards - so if you want a Gold edition then it needs to be the above pictured LE.
The StroboStomp Mini has pretty much exactly the same feature set as its larger sibling actually with a few extra features - with the added benefit of the smaller form-factor and top-mounted jacks. From what I’ve been told - the only significant different between the two - besides the form factor - is that the HD / LE contains a slightly more evolved Buffer circuit - to make even smoother transitions when stomping the pedals on and off. UPDATE - Peterson have corrected the above statement with the following : ’StroboStomp Mini uses the exact same buffer and dual relay true bypass circuitry as HD/LE. Always-on Monitor Mode utilizes the buffered output."
The larger pedal also has a battery option - while the Mini has to be powered by power supply - either standard 2.1mm Boss 9V DC [-] type, or via USB-C cable. You also have a new power-up Mute / Un-Mute state.
I’ve previously favoured the TC Electronic PolyTune Mini, and Sonic Research ST-300 TurboTuner Mini, while surely this new StroboStomp Mini is the new leader of the pack!
The full-size StroboStomp HD is $149, the LE Edition is $199, and the brand new StroboStomp Mini is priced at $119 and equivalent - and currently available for preorders - arriving some time in June!
Even though I mostly use my Headstock tuners - StroboClip ($59) and the Roadie 2 Automated Tuner I will still be getting this StroboStomp Mini - as I consider it the best in class now - and I can swap it in and out of the chain very easily if and when it’s required.
