The So High So Low is inspired by 2 legendary devices - taking the resonant filters from the Korg MS-20, and a slightly dirty preamp / saturator from the Mooger Fooger. In addition you have dual CV Inputs as well as dual Expression jacks - each of which allow you to target and trigger the High Pass and Low Pass filters in different ways.
Controls - High Pass Filter, CV In HP, CV In LP, Resonance High, Preamp / Saturation, Low Pass Filter, Resonance Low, Master Volume, EXP HP, EXP LP.
It’s broad enough to take input from pretty much any kind of instrument - including guitar and bass, while I believe its forte is with synthesisers, drum machines and other electronic devices.
The quality of output is exceptional as all the components are high quality audiphile grade. In prototype format we’ve had black, red, and white editions as pictured, as well as a black edition with multi-coloured knobs.
As some levels this is a really advanced EQ Booster - like a deluxe version of the EQD Tone Job - while it goes much further, and can also be quite a bit more subtle than other similar devices.
Interestingly this is the second recent pedal to be inspired by the Korg MS-20 - alongside the new Subdecay Prometheus 3.
I’m not clear on exactly which colourways will be offered in the first instance, while Konstantin typically makes several colourways over the span of a pedal. These will of course be available on the Analog Music Company Reverb.com store in batches - where each batch typically sells out very quickly - so you need to move fast if you want to snap up one of these earliest examples. The price is very reasonable too at $220.
The So High So Low goes up for sale today @ 22:00 Kyiv time, which is 21:00 CET, 20:00 GMT, 15:00 EST, 12:00 PST, and 07:00 AEDT.
I think certain players will have more use for this pedal while it is still at its core actually a really handy EQ + Boost - where the below demo highlights some of the key usage scenarios :
