So Anasounds has used Black Friday to spring-load its new FX Teacher project launch - a smart BluesBreaker take. Of course it has the same core 3 control knobs as the original - Output, Gain, and Tone, while it has 2 further toggle switches. The first ’Voice’ one allows you to shave off some of that circuit’s inherent brightness - or ’dampen’ the top end as such. Wile the second ’Disto’ switch engages a 3rd Gain Stage which carries the pedal into distortion territory.
It’s interesting that on Black Friday - the two posts I put out are of some of the most ubiquitous circuits (Tube Screamer and BluesBreaker) - of which there are already legions of variants out there in the world. You can of course argue that the world doesn’t need another BluesBreaker, but then again it’s all about innovation and differentiation. And the ’mods’ Anasounds has introduced here are highly useful and worthy. And if you’ve still to find a BluesBreaker pedal to properly gel with - then this might be the very one for you.
I have a good score of BluesBreakers in the reference collection already, including some very extended range and feature rich takes. But this new Blues Believer is worthy of some consideration - particularly at its Black Friday bonus price of €149 - which amounts to around $160, and £124. The Kit of the circuit is even less at €129.
Of course available for orders right now on the Anasounds Webstore - with the first batch being delivered before Christmas, and the second batch early in the new year.
As with all Anasounds pedals - there are additional trim-pots inside the device which allow you to further refine or extend the pedal’s output. This is probably more of nice-to-have for me - I have plenty of equivalents already, and this one doesn’t really give me anything I don’t have already. While for you it may just be your perfect first BluesBreaker!
Only one demo out so far, and quite late in the day - As below!
