I’ve always likened the Burns Buzzaround to a wirier sort of Tone Bender MKIII predecessor - the Buzzaround circuit just preceded that - and probably somewhat inspired the TBIII also to a degree. While before it was called the Burns Buzzaround, a version of the circuit was made as the G.P. Electronics Harmonic Generator in Bovey Tracey (Newton Abbot) Devon no less!, and where Italian brand Elka then made a version of it called the Dizzy Tone - roughly 3 years after the original Harmonic Generator.
This pedal’s name is derived from a combination of Buzzaround and Dizzy Tone - hence the ’Dizzy Buzz’. And Teddy has done a brilliant job with the enclosure - where that sparkly silver paint-job and matching silver sparkle knobs are the perfect embodiment of the pedal’s name.
Controls - Sustain (Fuzz), Timbre (Tone), Balance (Bias), Master Volume (Level).
The circuit specs of this pedal are exactly per the original variant - with the same 3 key facia controls, while we also have a really handy additional 4th Volume knob on the side.
The pedal comes standard in that perfect sparkling silver colourway - while you have the usual near 20 different optional colour variants. You also have the option of upgrading to OC71 Transistors - which adds $25 to the $199.95 standard price. Open for orders currently on the Tru-Fi Webstore.
For me, albeit slightly different - I always include both the Buzzaround and Zonk in and among the larger Tone Bender family - and I’m definitely looking for this to be my 3rd Tru-Fi pedal after the recent Ghost Vibe and Two Face Fuzz acquisitions - where I would certainly want to have the OC71 Transistors onboard.
The best way for me to acquire this pedal is through my good friend’s Joe Light’s Joe’s Pedal Boutique - while these Tru-Fi restocks don’t happen very often - so I’ve no idea when exactly this might happen.
For sure this variety of Tru-Fi is heading into the Reference Collection - it’s just a matter of time!
There’s only a single sneaky peek Instagram mini demo currently out - where Instagram embeds no longer work on Safari - so I’m best off just putting a link here to the pertinent Insta post :

I will of course post up further demos as and when they materialise.
I think my good friend Henry Kaiser might be interested in this too - as he’s something of a Buzzaround aficionado!
