I thought it best to start off 2025 really strong.
I could sort of have squeezed this into the tail end of last year, but it made more sense to celebrate this with the incoming new year!
This article marks 3 milestones!
Firstly - I now have the ultimate JHS Pedals Gain Trifecta - where all of these were acquired in 2024. I had long been intending to get the Morning Glory, but always wanted a more special version of that! So this marks the point of entry onto the pedalboard and into the reference collection - for the long-time wish-listed Morning Glory. And finally, and possibly most significantly it showcases the fantastic quality and meticulous attention to detail of Rogue Pedal Rehousing’s Zach Wynakos - whom I consider a friend and ally now!
I was looking for a special iteration / modded take on the Morning Glory, and have been following Zach for a while - so that seemed to be the perfect collaboration. Obviously there were some transatlantic project challenges - but all of this went off super smoothly and without incident.
The Christmas period for sure added some time to the delivery - but it was always on schedule to arrive before the end of 2024.
This article is a fully accurate representation of that pedal - which I consider to be a very special version of the Morning Glory. Zach has given these Black and Gold Rehousing projects the ’Gucci’ nickname / moniker - and I’ve used that here.
Zach’s INSTAGRAM page is the perfect reference for the quality of his work - where a lot of it consists of sort of blackout or specialist colourway editions, while some of the projects can involve quite a significant amount of custom work, as is the case for his Morning Glory ’Gucci’ Rehouse.
The below visual identifies the key changes from the stock V4 Morning Glory to the new ’Gucci’ enclosure. It consists of the transfer of the side-mounted jacks to top-mounted placement. The Red Remote jack is removed, and a second footswitch is added to allow you to engage the ’Boost’ mode on the pedal. The Gain toggle-switch therefore becomes redundant - so Zach re-purposes that as the Hi-Cut switch - which is on the side of the stock V4 pedal.
The further visuals below indicated key stages of the project - which was carried out in the most immaculate manner. And you get sent the original pedal enclosure too - with a little baggy of all the now surplus components, including the original’s knobs and fixtures.
The ’Gucci’ version is indeed a very beautiful gold-accented variant of Morning Glory - the one thing that needs to be noted is that the superb slightly raised printed graphics are not done with a metallic ink, but with a very clever hue of paint - which looks entirely golden in most lighting conditions. Overall I could not be happier with this pedal - but do note that such an exercise is a rather pricey proposition.
Zach broke down the costings for me as follows below - and indeed there is a lot of work that goes into these Rehousing projects.
========================
Morning Glory ’Gucci’ Rehouse
========================
Rehousing Service : $199
Graphics Service : $29
Dual Foot Switch Mod : $19
Top Jacks Mod : $19
Gold Accents : $8
========================
$274
========================
And of course a JHS Morning Glory V4 is @ $199, so $199 + $274 = $473.00
Obviously a very specialist treatment reserved in most instances for special projects!
You basically start by contacting Zach via his Rogue Pedal Rehousing Website.
Where you first need to fill out the ’Custom Quote’ form.
You outline what you’re looking for, and then upon approval and payment - need to supply Zach with the source pedal that is being modified and adapted.
Zach is almost always operating at full capacity - so you should allow a typical 4-6 weeks for project completion - depending on a variety of factors including the scope of work required!
I will certainly be going back to Zach for further special projects - this first project was so satisfying, and as I’ve said before the quality of work here is exceptional. There are of course other talented modders out there - while I’ve really gelled with Zach’s specific artistty here, as far as I’m concerned - he’s carved out a very unique and special niche for himself! You can see a sample ’Price List’ too - which gives you a good idea of what you’re in for!
Zach also has a second business - which some of you will be familiar with - the NEXUS Astro wireless page turner pedal - which is perfect for gigging and journeymen musicians, in fact anyone following musical scores and notations - a really simple but effective take for sure!
Here below follow a number of further visuals from this project :
This visual illustrates the essential changes made - top mounted jacks, re-purposing of toggle switch, adding of second Gain / Boost footswitch - and of course all within that very fetching custom 'Gucci' (Black and Gold) enclosure!

The Trifecta!
The Morning Glory's reputation is well deserved - it is truly a fantastic sounding and exceptionally dynamic Blues Breaker - for sure one of the very best. While The Violet and Hard Drive are surely future classics. If I was being super picky - I would say that the Hard Drive could do with a little more output volume - while the Morning Glory and The Violet are absolutely perfect as is. Surely a worthy investment, and I feel well justified in wanting my Morning Glory to be extra special - the Rogue Pedal Rehousing 'Gucci' Rehouse further elevates an already magnificent pedal!
Get your own Morning Glory 'Gucci' Rehouse at Rogue Pedal Rehousing, while The Violet and Hard Drive are already at peak prowess in their standard / stock format - of course available from JHS Pedals and at leading Dealers!
Note that the two above Rehousings are earlier and less extensive projects (with fewer modifications) - showcasing just how varied the scope of these projects can be!
