This was an unusually busy month - with 3 significant Guitar / Pedal Shows and in-depth show reports by me for each - which I’m incredibly proud of - no one does those to the same degree of detail as I, and for the Birmingham show I really lucked out with some amazing pictures - including of me and TheGigRig Crew.
Fuzzes are very significant this month - with a 10 Unit Fuzztopia acquired overall - of which I could only fit 6 on the board in the end - where all of those though had an innings...
So I initially published an article on February 20th - where I gathered together 9 pedals which all had the same Hot Pink Colourway. It was originally inspired by the launch of Great Easter FX Co’s Obsolete Devices OD201 Preamp - so the article was a nod to that.
At the time of posting I had 2 of those in my possession - I guess you could say 3 - as I owned the Lightspeed too already - but not in that colourway - as you will have noted in subsequent references.
So this was mainly done ...
What we have here is a +20dB Clean Blend, Classic Fuzz, and a Low Gain Overdrive - all blended together in parallel. You have separate footswitches for Fuzz and Drive - and can blend in your perfect mix via the 2 x Level and single Clear conntrols.

Most of you will recall that the Klon Centaur default blends Dry and Effected signals in ...
The Gunshot is Thorpy’s oldest official pedal - around 10 years old now, the Warthog is nearly as old - give or take a year or so, and the Peacekeeper is slightly more recent. I did an article a while back on Thorpy’s original award-winning trifecta - which includes the Gunshot, Warthog and Fallout Cloud Fuzz.
For the 3 pedals featured - Thorpy has revisited the pedal artwork for each - where his fairly recently arrived Roland UV-Printer can deliver a lot more intricate and full-colour ...
This post was inspired by the recent Great Eastern FX Co OC201 Preamp and latest James Dean Bradfield TPS Episode - which featured the MXR Fat Sugar. Those 2 Hot Pink Pedals kind of set the scene / tone for this - and I thought I would do a tribute to my Guitar Nerds Podcast Friends - Joe and Matt - who favour this particular hue of pedals. Would be interesting to know how many of these they have to date!
For me personally - I have the Alexander Hot Pink Drive and Life Is Unfair Violet ...
So January 2025 sees a momentous milestone - where we have the peak possible number of pedals in the chain - which now numbers no less than 52 Pedals. It’s an incredibly tight squeeze - and all the available space is now fully used up.
I’ve re-flowed the main visual - where I used to try to have a fixed format arrangement - but now have re-numbered the slots entirely corresponding to the number and order of those pedals. Last January I noted that I was going to switch out my 2 Friedman ...
So I picked up this Aquaria V2 from Joe’s Pedals in the UK - just before Christmas - along with some essential and rare Skreddy Pedals. I acquired 5 Lichtlaerm pedals in 2024 - all courtesy of Joe’s Pedals, and all quite superb.
Your basic Klon / Klone has just 3 controls typically - Gain, Treble, Output, and some have the additional Buffer switch. Relatively few have 2 channels, and hardly any have 10 controls - like this Aquaria V2.
Essentially the topology is split in half - with 5 ...
It’s that time of year when I pick out my personal favourite pedals in each category - starting with the Boost and Overdrive ones. I weigh up each candidate on the basis of my own experiences, preferences and sensibilities - and include pedals also that I intended to get but did not quite yet around to acquiring during the year of release!
For this selection I personally own all but these 8 :
I’ve always loved Mini Pedals - particularly those from Decibelics, Function F(X) / Pickdropper, Mooer and One Control, the latter two brands making up most of my mini pedal collection to-date - in fact you could probably add Wampler to the original list of 4 too - Brian makes some very fine minis - oh, as does MXR, and Ibanez even.. While for me at one time - Mooer was in the lead with 10 candidates in my mini pedal collection, while this latest exercise has pushed OneControl to the top of ...
So in the wake of my ’9 Notable Brazilian Guitar Pedal Brands’ article I had a lot of people contacting me (as intended!) to tell me I’d overlooked this and that brand. The first mentioned was obviously Cachalote Audio which I liked so much that I did a separate article on that.
While altogether we had another 9 notable brands suggested - to include in this separate feature. In fact there are even more - including StarDust Electronic Art - where I’m waiting until I get enough suggestions to...
