As a friend of Adrian’s I’ve been very aware of the tough times two of his kids have been going through over the last 18 months or so. During that incredibly delicate period two Charitable foundations really surpassed themselves in the care and support they brought to Adrian’s family - so he of course only thinks it right and just to pay back for that kindness.
To which ends he has created a Special Projects division - which currently consists of two very limited and unique pedals. Both variations on existing designs - and where the differences are cosmetic largely but material too in one of the cases.
First off we have a special Etched Thor edition of The Dane - with brand new artwork on the facia and behind the normally plain control area. And then we have a Carbon Fibre Enclosure edition of the Field Marshal Fuzz - made by Alistair at Carbon Art 45 - Formula 1 Grade Construction!
The idea here is that you buy High Resolution NFT type Artworks for each of those pedals and some lucky person gets a bonus - and receives the pedal too. You should think of this as supporting a good cause - rather than trying to win something. And for those with deeper pockets there are 3 of the Carbon Fibre Field Marshals up for sale for £499.99 - actually there were 3, only 1 left as of my writing this piece - but and will likely be none left by the time this article goes live!
The main thing is of course to support these two charities :
Wallace & Grommit’s Children’s Charity (wallaceandgromitcharity.org)
Oxford John Radcliffe Children’s Hospital (www.hospitalcharity.co.uk/pages/category/childrens-hospital)
Here are your 3 options on the ThorpyFX Website :
You can of course choose whether and how you participate - and if you feel like it - donate direct even - all those options are present. For my part I quite enjoyed going down the Artwork route - I’m happy to donate to a good cause which has supported my friend’s family so well - and I’m just paying it forward as such!
