If you’ve read my Part 1 Guitar Heroes Feature - you will know that Lari features within that list of initial 25 favourites. I was first aware of her - when she did various guest performances on Pete Thorn’s Channel a few years back, and I loved her expansive playing style from the start. She has such an elegant touch in how she plays - and she can handle almost any style with ease. She’s for sure a guitarist I’ve long admired.

There was a time when Hiwatt stood shoulder-to-shoulder with Marshall and Vox at the top of the British Amplifier hierarchy. In fact during the Dave Reeves Era (1966-1981) Hiwatt was considered the superior amp brand of the day - with significantly better build quality than all the rest. So I said I would expand the scope of the 10 Pedal Challenge to Mini and Large Enclosure variants if the original was well received. And in indeed that seems to be the case - with several readers encouraging me in particular to do the Large Pedals Edition.

Another strong month for sure! So I attended a GuitarGuitar Camden 20th Anniversary EarthQuaker Devices Showcase Event last Tuesday the 24th! The guests of honour obviously being Pedal Power Couple - Husband and Wife team Jamie Stillman and Julie Robbins. This was actually only their second visit to the UK - the first being another whistle-stop tour in 2018 or thereabouts. This time around they were being chaperoned around by good friend of ours Tom Bodfish from Northern Europe EQD Distributor - Audio Distribution Group.

Considering my well documented fallout with this brand - this is a slightly odd article for me. I might not get along with said brand name head honcho - but Jackson Audio still make some very decent pedals. They’re not necessarily always the best sounding overall, but in terms of their format innovation, build quality, feature set and usability they’re still a formidable force.
