Originally known as just the Way Huge Drive - this first emerged as a series of limited editions around 6 or so years ago. It quickly came to be known as the ’Geisha Drive’ because of the subject matter of its artwork.
This is one of the best-loved Way Huge pedals on account of its vast dynamic range and superior guitar volume knob gain cleanup. It has a gorgeous harmonic breakup - very much a harmonic overdrive as far as I’m concerned - while it can go relatively smooth and warm at one end, to rather ringing out and strident on the other - a really glorious tonality.
I have long since considered acquiring a Geisha Drive but never quite got around to it for whatever reason - I guess the time is ripe for it now!
Controls - Volume, Drive, Tone.
You can read up further details on the Jim Dunlop / Way Huge website. I believe the former version was around $149 - so we can expect this to be roughly the same. Like most Jim Dunlop pedals - appearing very imminently in the US market, while we Europeans will need to wait a month or two for these to make it across the water.
This one is definitely down on my acquisitions list, and I’ve also been encouraged to get my hands on a Mad Professor Royal Blue - so it’s a question as to which one comes first!
Great looking pedal - whose intricate artwork matches the quality of its output!
