Long desired and with nothing quite like it currently out there. The Lavaflo Liquid Distortion is a high-gain, somewhat acidic, and sort of slightly synth-like, little bit 80’s inspired smooth sustaining distortion.

This is one pedal that doesn’t quite exist as the moment - there are some that come close - the Victory V1 the Jack, the PigDog JuJu, and the Blakemore Effects Deus Ex Machina Fuzz. But none of those exactly capture this texture and tonality which you can get to squelch when you dig in on your pick attack.
It definitely has a degree of sizzle to its tonality - but by and large is an amazing smooth ultra-glide sound at its core - very well suited to legato playing - but with some dynamics so that when you do get more aggressive with your pick attack you can get it to behave somewhat more aggressively - in a sizzling, squlechy acidic fashion!
Over the years I’ve spoken to several of my builder friends about making such a pedal - but none yet have taken up the challenge.
I think this would make for a very distinctive new voice, and be something fairly new within the current landscape of mostly copied and derivative circuits.
What say you? Am I the only one with an appetite for such a device?
Who wants to collaborate on a liquid distortion?
